More than 70 years have passed since Roger Banniser became the first human to clock a sub-4 minute mile. Now, Faith Kipyegon looks to etch her name in history as the first woman to accomplish the feat Thursday in Paris.

Now, the four-time Olympic medalist has her sights set on another major feat: becoming the first woman to run a mile in under four minutes. "I'm a three-time Olympic champion. I've achieved world championship titles.

Faith Kipyegon's run is coming up shortly on Thursday, June 26. Her previous best mile time is 4:07.64. To break four minutes, she'll have to take two seconds off per lap from that best-ever mile in her life, which she ran almost two years ago.
