Krispy Kreme is celebrating National Doughnut Day with a sweet giveaway. On Friday, June 6, anyone can get a free doughnut of their choice at participating Krispy Kreme shops nationwide, the Charlotte-based doughnut chain said. No purchase is necessary.

At Dough n Joe, you can treat yourself to one free doughnut with your purchase. In addition to homemade doughnuts, Dough n Joe offers freshly brewed coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Hours are 6 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Sunday. The stores are selling freshly baked doughnuts for $4.99 a half dozen.
