INDIANAPOLIS — NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin has signed a multiyear contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing, the team said Friday. Details of the contract were not announced.

Denny Hamlin has signed a multi-year extension with Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR). The three-time Daytona 500 winner's contract was set to expire at the end of 2025, and an extension through to 2026 and 2027 was widely anticipated.

NASCAR has confirmed that Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing face further scrutiny following Sunday’s action in Indianapolis. Both teams will have some of their cars subject to additional inspection following the Cup Series and Xfinity Series races, with official confirmation arriving on Sunday evening.

The 44-year-old and Joe Gibbs Racing inked a two-year extension with each other that will keep the perpetual NASCAR Cup Series contender in the No. 11 Toyota Camry through the 2027 season. And despite his age, Hamlin is still amongst the best in the discipline, currently leading the division with four victories.

For anyone who thought the 44-year-old was nearing the end of his NASCAR Cup Series career, Friday's announcement proved otherwise. Denny Hamlin will continue driving the No. 11 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota after signing a new, multi-year contract extension. Hamlin later revealed that it is a two-year deal, going through the 2027 season.
