In the battle of comedies, The Bad Guys 2 seems to have taken the lead over The Naked Gun, with the animated feature outperforming the Liam Neeson-led movie at the box office during its opening weekend.

The Marvel superhero pic tumbled 66 percent in its sophomore outing domestically, compared to a 53 percent drop for DC's 'Superman.'

Elsewhere at the box office, “Superman” descended to fourth place with $13 million in its fourth weekend of release. The Warner Bros. and DC Studios adaptation has generated $316 million domestically and more than $502.7 million globally to date.
