SEC commissioner Greg Sankey acknowledged the conference's Media Days blunder when Texas A&M's "Aggie War Hymn" played as Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian walked onto the stage. "So, mistakes happen," Sankey said.

The Aggies have almost always been good this century but rarely great. Only once since 1998 have they reached double digits in wins, which, of course, was their SEC debut season in 2012, when America came under the spell of Johnny Manziel. Been downhill pretty much ever since, which is not the kind of results they’ve been paying for.
