Contrary to Sonam's claim to her mother-in-law over the phone that she was fasting, the homestay owner said that both had a ‘very good dinner’, which they enjoyed. The owner also recalled the couple's unusual behaviour on the morning of May 23.

Raja Raghuvanshi was murdered by his wife Sonam and her aides during their honeymoon in Meghalaya. Police say it was their fourth attempt, after three failed murder bids in Guwahati and Sohra.

Planning for the murder had started in February, three months before Raja and Sonam’s wedding, the probe revealed.
