Marcus waited patiently to hear his name called and with the 33rd pick, my Boston Red Sox chose the Tennessee standout... I was overjoyed that he’s be headed to Boston.

It was a record-setting night for the Tennessee baseball program on Sunday during Day 1 of the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft in Atlanta.

Marcus Philips played in the 2017 Little League World Series on the first team from Sioux Falls ever to make it to Williamsport. Here he is introducing himself and showing off his jump shot form: And here he is hammering a homer to the opposite field:
