The U.S. Air Force Global Strike Command has paused the use of a pistol after a Security Forces airman died at a Wyoming base.

A leaked memo called for the M18 to be pulled from use “for all operational and training activities” immediately and replaced by the M-4 rifle.

The command paused using the M18 after a Security Forces airman was killed while on duty when their pistol discharged.
