KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - A local church in Knoxville hopes to raise items needed for Kentucky and Tennessee tornado victims over the next few weeks.
The second tornado warning happened in the evening. A tornado warning was issued at 10 p.m. for Knoxville, Farragut, Karns, Powell, Seymour, Mascot and surrounding neighborhoods.
There is a slight chance for severe weather in Knoxville and East Tennessee on June 6 and 7. Thunderstorms, gusty winds, hail and tornados are possible, according to the National Weather Service.
Knoxville and East Tennessee will likely see severe weather on the evening of May 16. The storms are expected to continue overnight and end around 4 a.m. on May 17.
Tennessee has observed 46 total tornadoes so far in 2025, with the most recent impacting East Tennessee on May 31, said Husted. The EF-0 tornado touched down in Union County and caused five injuries.

A tornado watch is in effect for all of Middle Tennessee until 10 p.m. May 20. Some parts of Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky are also included in the watch.
