Parliament and the president’s office in Kenya’s capital, Nairobi, have been barricaded ahead of protests planned for the one-year anniversary of anti-tax demonstrations in which 60 people were killed

At least 400 were also injured as protesters held running battles with police during massive anti-government demonstrations.

The police fired tear gas at demonstrators who were expressing anger at the government over growing economic hardship and a lack of accountability for killings at earlier rallies.
