The Meriden Superintendent of Schools said U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has not contacted the district or any Meriden public schools.

A high school senior was detained by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, during an immigration hearing in Hartford this week, according to Meriden Public Schools. A Maloney High School twelfth grader was taken into custody just days before graduation during a hearing that wasn’t criminal in nature,

MERIDEN, Conn. (WFSB) - A Meriden high school senior has been detained by ICE. In a letter to the district, Superintendent Mark Benigni said that a senior in the school district was detained at an immigration hearing in Hartford. ICE has not contacted the district or any Meriden public school.
