Heathrow Airport in London, one of the world's busiest airports, announced it will be closed Friday after a large fire at a nearby electrical substation caused a power outage.

The fire knocked out power to 16,000 homes as well as Heathrow, west of London, just hours before the airport was due to open at 6 a.m. local time.
