Google reported that Google Cloud Platform (GCP), its popular cloud hosting service, experienced a problem Thursday afternoon.
The message read, “Your iCloud storage is full. Because you’ve exceeded your storage plan, your documents, contacts and device data are no longer backing up to iCloud and your photos and videos are not uploading to iCloud Photos. To continue using these services, you need to upgrade to iCloud+ or reduce the amount of storage you are using.”
A series of outages plagued various websites, services, and platforms throughout the week, ultimately affecting productivity for users around the globe.
Google Cloud had a worldwide outage for several hours. Amid a recent string of recent outages among other technology platforms — such as ChatGPT — Google acknowledged its Cloud shutdown and provided an incident report on June 12, 2025. According to Google Cloud’s status site, the platform updated users at 12:41 PT, 3:41 ET on June 12.
Google Cloud experienced outages today that led to disruptions for many online services. Reports of issues for Google products and others began around 2 PM ET. The company was able to restore function to its own apps, but several other businesses have continued to experience problems for some users.
