While it's hardly the biggest pitching injury to afflict the National League West this week, the Los Angeles Dodgers on Saturday placed right-handed starter Tony Gonsolin on the 15-day injured list with right elbow discomfort.

The number of Dodgers pitchers sidelined grew by one Saturday when the team put Tony Gonsolin on the IL because of discomfort in his surgically repaired elbow.

Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed pitcher Landon Knack (3-2, 5.12 ERA) was having a rough season coming into Thursday's game against the New York Mets, but was coming off two consecutive quality starts. Unfortunately for the 27-year-old, he didn't maintain that momentum.

Landan Knack started for the Dodgers and did not have a good day at the office. Following a 1-2-3 first inning, Pete Alonso—fresh off hitting two homers last night—led off the top of the second with an opposite field shot to give the Mets a 1-0 lead.

The Mets secured the season series, but split the four-game series with a 6-5 loss Thursday afternoon at Dodger Stadium.
