Detroit Tigers right-hander Sawyer Gipson-Long is set to start against the Chicago White Sox — ending a 13-month rehab process from two surgeries.

Parker Meadows had a big smile on his face. It had been a long time since he had played in a major league game. Meadows was activated by the Detroit Tigers on Monday after missing the start of the season because of a nerve issue in his upper right arm.

These past couple of months have been very trying as I’ve come to the realization that my football journey is ending and I’m officially retiring from the NFL,” Ragnow announced on Instagram Monday morning.

The Detroit Lions lost another star to early retirement. Four-time Pro Bowl center Frank Ragnow announced Monday he's retiring after seven NFL seasons, and he now joins the likes of Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders and Hall of Fame wide receiver Calvin Johnson as top-tier Lions to walk away from the game early.
