Constellation Energy was rising sharply after Meta Platforms signed an agreement to buy power generation of a Constellation nuclear plant in Illinois in a 20-year deal.Shares of clean-energy provider Constellation surged 12% in premarket trading.

Meta has cut a 20-year deal to secure nuclear power to help meet surging demand for artificial intelligence and other computing needs at Facebook's parent company.

The agreement aims to support Meta's clean energy objectives and regional operations by providing 1,121MW of emissions-free nuclear energy.
