The most recent deadline set by the Trump administration for New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to halt the city's congestion pricing has come and gone.

Congestion pricing involves using electronic tolling to charge vehicles $9 for entering Manhattan’s Congestion Relief Zone to reduce traffic and raise money for public transportation upgrades. One of the main federal arguments against the plan is that the congestion pricing toll rate was set mainly to raise money for the MTA.

The transportation secretary and other Republicans hit a speed bump in their efforts to stop New York from charging drivers for entering parts of Manhattan.
