At least two people were killed in North Carolina after Tropical Depression Chantal caused severe flooding. North Carolina Gov. Josh Stein visited Alamance County on Tuesday following the deadly storm.

The storm flooded roads, downed trees and stranded residents across the central part of the state. It is headed northeast toward Washington, D.C., and Maryland.
