The former UC Davis student accused of going on a deadly stabbing spree is taking the stand in his own defense. Carlos Dominguez started his testimony on Monday. He has pleaded not guilty in the 2023 stabbings that left two people dead and a third injured.

Carlos Reales Dominguez, the man accused of 2023 serial stabbings in Davis, will return to the witness stand on Tuesday to continue testifying on his life, trauma and perspective on the attacks. The former UC Davis student is accused of fatally stabbing two men and seriously wounding a woman in an almost week-long crime spree that led the college town that is home to UC Davis to close businesses early and switch evening classes into a virtual format until an arrest was made.
