Brighton players, even more specifically midfielders, have been hot commodities in the Premier League in recent history. Moisés Caicedo notably cost Chelsea a British transfer record at the time of £115 million ($154.7 million) as the Ecuadorian went on to become one of the best players in his position.

Brighton's hierarchy reportedly believe Baleba has the potential to be as valuable as Moises Caicedo, whom they sold to Chelsea. Caicedo completed the transfer to Stamford Bridge, for a British record fee of £115million, in 2023.

Baleba is emerging as one of the most highly-rated players in his position and Brighton do not intend to sanction a sale this summer.
