Humberto gaining strength and expected to become hurricane over central tropical Atlantic
WPBF 25 First Warning meteorologists are tracking Tropical Storm Humberto in the central tropical Atlantic Ocean.

It’s the Great Atlantic Sargassum Belt—a gargantuan bloom of a brown free-floating seaweed. In May, the seaweed belt hit a record biomass of 37.5 million tons.
One person had to be rescued from the water and later hospitalized Wednesday after two boats collided in the Atlantic Ocean off Fire Island, the U.S. Coast Guard said. About 6 a.m., the Long Island sector received a radio report of a boat collision about 17 miles south of Fire Island, the Coast Guard said.
The seizure by two navy ships followed a tip-off by anti-drug and maritime intelligence authorities and British police, authorities said.
