The Wild Robot flat-out dominated the 52nd annual Annie Awards on Saturday night, won nine trophies: Best Direction for Chris Sanders — his fifth career Annie — FX, Character Animation, Character Design, Production Design, Editorial, Music and Voice Acting for Lupita Nyong’o as lead character Roz. She was not present at UCLA’s Royce Hall to accept.

“The Wild Robot” ran away with nine wins at the 52nd annual Annie Awards on February 8 at UCLA’s Royce Hall. The DreamWorks robot survival adventure took Best Feature along with nearly ever other category (it was not nominated for Best Writing and Best Storyboarding).

Over the weekend the 52nd Annie Awards were held and the League of Legends animated series Arcane won all of the seven catagories that it was nominated for! Arcane had the secoind most wins at the award show with The Wild Robot taking home eight awards,

It was an evening of sweeps at the 52nd ASIFA-Hollywood Annie Awards, which were presented Saturday evening in a ceremony at UCLA’s Royce Hall in Los Angeles.

Animation studios have joined a fundraising effort to support members of the animation community affected by the recent fires.

Overall, Arcane ranked second in total awards won, with the animated feature The Wild Robot taking home nine trophies.
