Theories have started to emerge around the tragic crash between the Black Hawk helicopter that crashed into a passenger plane in January. The crash shook the aviation world, which saw mistakes from both parties cost the lives of all 64 passengers and three military personnel involved.

A ‘New York Times’ investigation into the Jan. 29 midair collision between an American Airlines passenger jet and a U.S. Army Black Hawk helicopter found that the captain who was flying the military aircraft was not suffering from any medical impairment.

Homer pilot Daniel Bunker and Anchorage artist and photographer Jenny Irene Miller died in Monday’s crash, which also sent a male passenger to the hospital with serious injuries.
