A small group of North Carolina volunteers with five mules and one horse is helping transport supplies in the ongoing search and recovery operation in Texas.

Swift water rescue technicians from the Shreveport Fire Department have been in Kerrville, Texas for six days now. They were sent there to respond to the catastrophic Fourth of July flooding that happened in the Texas Hill Country.

Mexican firefighters trained in search and rescue have joined the efforts to find the victims of the tragic flooding in the battered Texas Hill Country.

B’nai Torah Congregation in Boca Raton is leading a relief effort to support Central Texas flood victims through its TLC (Tzedakah, Learning & Chesed) program. Tzedakah is the Hebrew word for charitable giving, and chesed for mercy.

The mission proved to be much more arduous than expected for her and her small crew of four, all of whom are first tour aviators.

Among those offering charitable aid to those in need is a trained chef, cooking and serving food day in and day out at a fire department in Comfort.

Ford Motor Co. and its philanthropic arm are donating money, and dealers will donate cars and other aid to Texans impacted by the flood.
