Turns out, the offensive fireworks the Red Sox displayed Friday in D.C. weren’t limited to the Fourth of July. A day after their series-opening 11-2 win over the Nationals, the Red Sox bats stayed hot in a 10-3 triumph Saturday to secure the series win.

With a 10-3 victory over the Washington Nationals on Saturday, the Boston Red Sox reached 10,000 career wins as a franchise.

Further completing the Boston-Philadelphia circle, the Red Sox completed their 4,000th win under manager Lou Boudreau, who ultimately departed Boston after the ‘54 season to helm the A’s for their first three seasons in Kansas City.
