The Phillies are eyeing Angels slugger Taylor Ward ahead of the MLB Trade Deadline, and a deal could give Philadelphia the right-handed power boost they need.
The Phillies, who have been searching for relief pitching help throughout the season, have agreed to sign veteran reliever David Robertson, reports The Athletic. It's a deal for the rest of the season for $16 million, prorated for just the remainder of the Phillies' games, reports MLB.com, or roughly $6 million.
Ideally, Robertson could help the Phillies in the later innings in August and September, then slot in the middle of the 'pen come October.
