Multiple law enforcement agencies across Louisiana have reported that 911, the nation's universal emergency number, is down or intermittently receiving calls.

Several Louisiana law enforcement agencies are currently experiencing outages where they are unable to receive emergency calls.

Parts of Mississippi and Louisiana are experiencing 911 outages Thursday due to an unknown technical glitch, Sheriff Wally Jones said.  Anyone with an emergency should call the sheriff’s department’s main line at (601) 783-6767.

MANSFIELD, La. -- 911 services are down in multiple parishes in northwest Louisiana. The Bossier, Caddo, DeSoto and Natchitoches sheriff's offices cannot accept 911 calls. The DeSoto Parish Sheriff's Office said a major fiber cut is affecting all landline phones. So, residents can't call 911 or the main office number.

ALEXANDRIA, La. (KALB) - Rapides Parish 911 and Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) reported a large outage of 911 phone lines on September 25 at around 1:30 p.m.. OEP said AT&T is aware of the outage.
