It’s not what you expect from Marrakesh at all. It’s all about scamming tourists and serving bad, overpriced ugly food. Go and visit Rabat, Fes, and any other nice cities closer to the coast. Full review by 308megc

I travelled from Tangier to Marrakech, with a couple of side trips. The best currency to have is Moroccan dirham. Euros are accepted in many places. My VISA credit card was generally accepted. There are ATMs. Most accepted my Royal Bank of Canada client card. I carried some dirham and obtained more as I went, using my credit card frequently. Also I planned spending so that I had no dirham when I left. The taxi driver got a great tip. Check to see if there are restrictions on taking dirham out of Morocco. Note that it will be difficult to convert dirham back to CAD, USD, GBP, or EUR.

Is there a dress code for men, women and young girl? Just packing to go away and we are planning a day out in the old town but not sure what to pack for us? Should my partner wear trouser? A guide would definitely make for a better experience, but we had no issues going by ourselves and stopped through several times for attractions, shopping and restaurants. Just be ready to say “no thank you” or “la shukraan” very often! And Marrakech is so touristy that you’ll see all types of clothing so I agree with the comment to wear whatever will make you comfortable. But with how crowded and dusty the streets are I’d recommend closed toe shoes.
