The Jewish Museum in Auschwitz preserves the Jewish heritage of Oświęcim (Auschwitz) in Poland and educates about the Holocaust and the dangers of prejudice and hatred today. The Jewish Museum is located in the heart of the Old Town of Oświęcim, next to the only surviving synagogue and the former home of the last Jewish resident of Oświęcim – which now houses Café Bergson.

I have taken this tour with a Guide , but I have been to Auschwitz about 10 times or so showing my friends around. I am a Businessman living in Krakow, for now. I recommend that you get there early so you can join an English speaking Guide Group in order to have enough time to see the two Museums. There is Krakow Tours Guide's (in Town) that would take you, but I see that there are fast, expensive and not worth it. I would go to the Krakow Bus terminal and there they have direct bus's to Auschwitz. In this way, you will see more and not hurry up your visit. All the direct bus's return to Krakow on Site at the front entrance.

I think it should be ok. Obviously you have to judge it yourself. Some 9 years old they very bright and interested in history. Kids may have a lot of questions to explain what actually happen and what's all those things there are. Don't forget In Poland a lot of school trips goes to Auschwitz. But like I said it's your decision.
