The park (like most if not all parks in Jackson) didn’t allow dogs, so we got photos in front of the antler arches and left. Touristy and crowded.Full review by TravelinFools66

The square is pretty iconic. Everyone takes pictures there. And the town radiates around it. It’s also very pretty and a place to sit and enjoy the mountain air.Full review by Flyingboy58
Is it a pet friendly area? Can we walk our dog inTown Square?

That’s a big fat “no.” There are signs saying it will be enforced, but people were walking their dogs in there. The whole town is very dog “unfriendly.”
Would like to visit the first week of October but am concerned what the typical weather is for that time of year. We will be driving from Tennessee so any info is appreciated.

Unfortunately, we were there only 2 days of our National parks(bus) trip-so I don't have any answers for that time period. I would be inclined to contact their Visitors Bureau for the weather & events. We went on a raft ride down the Snake River & that could be cold... We also did a covered wagon trip that included dinner & a show - it was a great time. There are lots of restaurants in the area - and it would be a best (again) to check with the visitors bureau. Sorry I cannot provide more info. Debra.
