We will be staying near this square for a trip in October. Is this a safe area to walk back to from the busier nightlife areas during the night? Before midnight most likely....

Even during the day it's a fairly quiet area. I personally think it is safe, but I would be a bit leery if I were to travel with just girls. Not one city is truly safe.
