It is about a 1/4 mile path from the parking area of the fort to reach the reconstructed fort with no shade so plan ahead with a hat or sunscreen. The Park Service has done a great job building this … Full review by ksufan88

About as authentic feeling as a modern re-creation can be. Lots of effort went into furnishing the fort, in addition to it's reconstruction in the 1970's. Would recommend this for anyone interested … Full review by 575sks

Specifically, Its GPS location is: 38° 2′ 24″ M 103° 25′ 48″ W. But that makes it difficult. Just drive East from La Junta on Colorado highway 194 east from La Junta. It is only six miles to the entrance. If you are in Las Animas, Take the same highway East until you are at the historic fort.
