Good experience all around. The rotating cable car up guarantees that everyone gets a good view. It can be crowded when you first arrive at the top, especially by the restaurant area but once you wal…Full review by Colinasita

A not to be missed site in Cape Town with absolutely stunning views on a good day. I'm not so sure on a bad day as there is absolutely no shelter on the top. The cable car is efficient and well staff…Full review by aswrtb7

Q:
How do you know if the visibility is good on table mountain
A:
I think if you have good visibility on the ground and if you can see Table Mountain from the ground, there should be good visibility from the top.

If I land at the airport at 1430, planning to check in at hotel, would it be crazy to plan table mountain that afternoon/sunset (in July)? There's just so much to see in Cape town I don't want to waste any of my limited time... Thanks

The last cable car up in July is 4pm and the last down is 5pm. That would mean allowing up to an hour through the airport and an hour to get through Cape Town traffic (including quick …

The best place is ww w . tablemountaintickets . com , they have discount specials, birthday specials and other deals. The website has tons of useful information and is chosen by many local South Africans. Search "tablemountaintickets" on Google and find the COM or CO ZA extention. The website. The tickets should be bought in advance because the line at Table mountain Aerial Cableway is long, especially during November to Feb, it takes 5 minutes to checkout on the website compared to 2 hours of waiting. I go to Cape Town quite often, I'm from United States but every time I do, I order from this company. My family has saved literally hours of waiting in line through ordering of passes in advance through Table Mountain Tickets. Try, you wont regret it. I think this year would be my 50th time in Cape Town! Not bad for my age of 76. My daughter likes to spend time on top of the Cable Car near the shop and resturant. There are many things to do including sight seeing, Dassie watching and cafe. The down Cable Car ride is easy because the passes are issued return trip
Q:
After reading the cable car is being closed for maintenance work in July is there any other way up other than the long hike ??

You can buy your tickets in advance and use them for up to 7 days. I bought mine before arrival and it was during the time of annual Cableway maintenance. I bought it from Table Mountain Tickets but there is allot of useful information on the web. I think the most up to date information on the Cableway operations is listed on Google by searching "tablemountaintickets" The site has helpful information on planning your Cable Car trip and getting to the top of Table Mountain, I highly recommend!
