Is there any spots nearby I can take a shower if not staying in Surin beach? I plan to stop there for some beach time then go further for something else but won't have time to come back to hotel in Patong

I didn't see anywhere you could shower. Maybe book a hotel for a day room to get access. Hope you have a good time !

There are signs at Surin Beach warning of jelly fish, rips and large waves. We have been here for 2 weeks and somedays the beach is calm and perfect and other days there are very big sudden waves. Today there was a set of waves that went up to the foot path. I went for a beach walk an hour later and spotted about 10 large pink fire jellyfish in the water and the guard was disposing of one on the beach.
