Stratford is a village in Marathon County, Wisconsin, United States. It is part of the Wausau, Wisconsin Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 1,578 at the 2010 census. Stratford was platted in 1891 when the railroad was extended to that point. The village was named after Stratford-upon-Avon, in England.
