St Martin's Theatre was designed by W. G. R. Sprague and opened in 1916. It is home to the record breaking Play The Mousetrap by Agatha Christie.

Seeing The Mousetrap was a bucket list item well and truly ticked, and experiencing it at St Martin’s Theatre made it all the more memorable. The suspense, classic whodunit twists, and razor-sharp my…Full review by fatboyslimfast1

I have wanted to see the play "for ever" and it was very much as I anticipated, unsurprisingly very Agatha Christiesque! The theatre itself is in a great location, close to tube stations and surroun…Full review by Rachel A

We've always wanted to go to the longest running show and finally went on February 8th 2025. 'The Mousetrap' was very good. It kept its old worlde charm but felt relevant to modern day. The cast w…Full review by Martine E

Hello. It means you'll have a slight restriction view of the stage. I sat in the upper gallery, towards the back, and I had a slight restriction view of the whole stage. But, I didn't mind just as long as I could see what was going on.
Is there a barrier which would obstruct view from front row of Dress Circle - I'm 5ft 3in?

Clear view with no barriers. I'm 5'10" and had no problem with the leg-room. For a real BIG Agatha Christie experience try the afternoon performance of Witness for the Prosecution and then take in the evening performance of Mousetrap. Plenty of time between, and after ,the shows to snack or have dinner. Many good restaurants nearby.
I'm going to see The Mousetrap while in London. I looked at the seating chart and it was a little confusing, in that two seats next to each other could be different prices, and seats located behind others were more expensive, whereas I would have thought they would be cheaper. Is there a rhyme or reason for this? Any help for this first-timer going to see what I'm sure will be a wonderful play would be most appreciated!! Thank you in advance.

My advice would be to look at the official theatre website and seating plan. And if possible call and speak to The theatre’s own Box Office. We buy direct from the theatre not a ticket agent or reseller. You are then assured that the tickets and prices are genuine. It’s an excellent theatre and play. There is also a website ( give it a google) called something like view from my seat where you can see the view from the seat ( funnily enough!) Quite often in London theatres stalls are more expensive that Circle Seats. Hope this helps.
Is there room in the theatre to store a small suitcase as I will be travelling home immediately after the matinee performance and will have already checked out of my hotel
A:
If you mean where you will be sitting then the answer would be no. Leg room is very tight, crossing your legs even difficult, though we are a tall family. My suggestion would be to ask …
If you mean where you will be sitting then the answer would be no. Leg room is very tight, crossing your legs even difficult, though we are a tall family. My suggestion would be to ask the lovely staff in the ticket office if you could leave your suitcase with them. Back in the day I'm sure there was a cloakroom for checking in your coat etc, possibly still is.
Is your view obstructed on front row balcony seats?
A:
We sat to the far left so up against the wall if you will so there was a small part of the stage to the far left that we couldn’t see. But that was remedied by leaning forward a bit.
