Alghero is a lovely, historic and beachside place. Pia Maria Beach is a park/beach with parking next to the beach access walk through a Pine tree forest. There are some lovely bed and breakfast spots and many hotels. Make sure to take a walk around the old town and book yourself a table at Il Corallo, great local food. Trip advisor has lots of good b&b hotel reviews, including Villa Las Rosas. If you have a car, make the effort to get to La Pelosa, Stintino and even closer Le Bombarde.
