It is not too long from the parking lot to the temple of the moon but to see the site there is some up and down stairs and ramps. Also a good tour will take about 2 hours so you would be standing for some time. You actually go upwards as you go through the temple--it is not a long straight stairway but gradually you work your way up and down throughout the ruin. If you have or use a cane or walking sticks I would suggest taking them. You cannot go to the temple of the sun but can see it from afar. It all depends on your walking limitation. If you can manage some short stairways and ramps with rests in between you should be OK. There is one rather long ramp into the deepest area that might be difficult. The wall figures and paintings in that area are magnificent and can't be fully appreciated by looking from the top down but I don't think you must go down in order to complete the tour of the ruin. I am one of those people that likes to give something a try--if you can't make it through the structure you can at least appreciate the scale and antiquity of the ruins from ground level outside.

The site itself cost 10 soles, you can get here by local bus for 2.5 soles, or a taxi from the center of Trujillo for around 10 soles (1 US$ is about 3 soles). You can also join one of the shared tours with a guide who speaks a bit of English and Spanish, these tours leave daily for between 25 to 50 soles p.p. depending on the quality. Or you can take a private tour for around 30 US$ p.p. with your own personal English speaking guide North Peru Tours is for example a good agency for this.
