Honestly it all depends in what you want to see. The gardens, the house and or the inn. My wife and I toured the gardens, took a carriage ride, toured the house and walked around the gardens. I would say you need 4-5 hours as it goes by very quickly.

The tour that I was on did not allow entry into the house.

We just paid the base price and walked around. We tried to eat lunch there, but the wait was too long. I believe there were tours that might have included lunch.

I would say at least 1/2 day....3-4 hours.
