We started our visit by getting our tickets and reserving seats for the free dark sky show right away. We then ate a light meal in the Planet X cafe. The cafe is located in the new (opened Nov 2024)…Full review by Journey315590

In all fairness I'm sure this is a great place to visit. Unfortunately for us we arrived about dusk, (after waiting all day to go), only to be told they were closing early as a snowstorm was expected…Full review by Scott U

A surprisingly enjoyable experience. All of the staff were enthusiastic and helpful. Telescope viewing was amazing as was the rooftop constellation talk - heated seats! We had a GREAT time.Full review by Marjorie M
We were there in October and it was delightful. Flagstaff is north and quite a bit higher than Phoenix, so they do have winter and not "killer heat" summer
How many hours would you say an average visit would be? I’m interested in the guided tours in addition to evening activities. Just sounds like a long day!

3 to 4 hours is plenty of time to see most. Many people go at night to view the stars & planets.

Lowell Observatory may be a good pick. On some nights (maybe ALL nights?) they have star gazing and related lectures. Check their site for info.
