An absolutely beautiful area. I loved how easy it was to get to some of the overlooks. The bathrooms were pretty clean for park bathrooms.Full review by leaholden

I have been to Porcupine Mountains State Park a number of times and I can tell you that the biting flies season varies from year to year. It's usually in July or August and fortunately only lasts a few weeks. If Matt was there in July and had trouble with the flies, you'll probably be OK in mid to late August.

We were there in October of 2017, and as I recall, the walking path was quite accessible. We were 74 and 69, respectively, but have been fairly mobile, if that provides any help. As I recall, the distance from parking to the overlook was not terribly long, but I would not advise trying to maneuver over the full scope of the overview.
