This is a good campground. They are having trouble keeping a campground host with any experience for the past few years. It is truly noble that elderly people are trying their hardest to do this diff…Full review by Mike P
We are very interested in staying here this November but our dog is a pitbull. While they allow dogs, I haven't been able to determine if they are breed specific. Can anyone answer this question for me?

I believe there may be restrictions, but do check with the Gulf Islands Ranger office before booking. I do know that any pets must be leashed at all times, and not left unattended. Also, I would take along a licensed Veterinarian certificate of current rabies vaccination just in case.
Are the dogs only allowed along the sidewalk or are they allowed on the beach too? According to the Gulf Island National Seashore website:" Pets are not allowed in the following areas (service animals exempt): - On all park beaches in Florida for safety reasons, this regulation is consistent with Florida State Law."

The Davis Bayou unit also oversees the islands: Horn, east and west Ship, and Cat I believe. Because the public ferry does not allow dogs, and you can't approach any of these islands without encountering a beach, dogs are likely not allowed on the offshore barrier islands either.
Yes......do they take reservations for the camping. We are thinking about coming down the week of Thanksgiving or the week of Christmas......we usually make reservations through Reserve America. If not, what are the chances of getting a spot? np

Yes there is nice shady campground there and it's not too busy. It's also nicely located in Ocean Springs which is THE PRETTIEST city on the coast with LOTS of nice places to eat and see. The Mariners Museum in Biloxi is also AWESOME, esp if you enjoy boating. Walking the Ocean Springs Biloxi Bridge on a fall evening for sunset is also a very popular things for us locals and visitors alike to do. Enjoy your stay.
