Hello my question is not really about the tour as everyone seems to be very happy. My concern is about safety. Santa Marta is mentioned for high level of violence in the Canadian travel advisory site. What was the feeling on the ground and on the hike in general? I did a hike in Peru a few years ago and ended up being completely alone ( was supposed to be a group hike) 3 days walk in the jungle with our guide in was a little sketchy.. thank you manny
A:
Hi. It was very safe. There are some military points on the way and military lager in the jungle just for tourist safety. I never heard any concern regarding the safety staying in Santa Marta.
Q:
If it's too wet do they cancel?
A:
It was bucketing down when we went. They did not cancel and the trek was still fantastic.

Good Afternoon from Colorado. I had a couple of questions. We would like to do a 4 day hike Ciudad Perdida on 2/16/20 to 2/19/20. Are those dates available for 7 adults? Will there be beds available? I know that several of us do not do well in hammocks. What is the maximum group size? We would like a moderate number such as 12. Is that possible? What is the down payment. Finally, we were told that Wilson was a great guide. We all are very interested in history and the archaeology in the area. Thank you! We have heard great things about Expotur and hope to see you in February!

I have read mixed reviews about the sleeping accommodations. Did you sleep in hammocks or beds? Are you guaranteed a bed? Any bed bugs? Was the trail muddy in the dry season? If I go it will be in mud February. Any tips? Thank you.

Hey we did the tour in early December and did not sleep in hammocks but in comfy beds :) they told us that in highseason it might be that you have to sleep in hammocks, but they would also come with a mosquito net - so don’t worry! Just make sure you bring long Pyjamas ;)
