Hello there, Please may you advise where you saw it advertised as a free event? Essex County Council do not advertise for this event as it is a site hire at Cressing Temple. We only place the event on our website, and the organisers website stated ticket prices online. The price you were charged was the organisers admission fee to the event in which there was a variety of stalls, cooking demonstrations and classes. I hope this helps answer your question.
