According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 35.5 square miles ; 35.4 square miles of it is land and 0.04 square miles of it is water. The township contains one property listed on the National Register of Historic Places: the 1874 Bear Valley Grange Hall, which now serves as the town hall.
