Yes there is a small fee but being part of a group I do not know the exact amount as this was included as part of the price of our package for a tour of 10 days.
We'll be in Lambert's Bay next April and will visit Bird Island. Is there parking nearby? Roughly how much time should I allow for the visit? Best regards

You can park outside Isabella's Restaurant (no problem finding parking both times we visited). This is inside the harbour gate and next to the causeway entrance. As for time, it depends how interested you are by the birds. Their specialised behaviour is interesting to watch and they provide wonderful photographic opportunities. There's also a small exhibition of whale, seal and bird skeletons in a building nearby. 2-3 hours max I would say.
