I was there on Wednesday and the area had standing water and we had to stick to the paths but that was only because of recent rains. The river was 12-14 feet higher than normal so the paddle boat ride to the battlefield was very cool. I would definitely recommend seeing the battlefield and take the creole queen tour to get there.
